Shell stitch bucket hat crochet pattern

 










 The hat is worked with shell stitch from the start, it is slightly different from the usual flat worked shell stitch as this is worked in rounds from top to bottom, the result is worth the trial, and it is easier than you might think.

 Ch: chain 

St: stitch

 Sc: single crochet

 Dc: double crochet

 Sk: skip

 Shell st: 5 dc in the same stitch 

Sl st: slip stitch 

Written Pattern 

ch2, 6 sc in round

 Round 1: ch1, 2 sc in every st, join

 Round 2: ch3, 4 dc in the same st as ch 3, sk2, sc, sk 2, shell st, repeat ( shell st in the next st, sk 2, sc in the following st) till the end of the round

 Round 3: ch1, 2sc in every st, join 

Round 4: ch1, sc in the same st as ch1,sk 2, shell st, sk2, sc, sk 2, shell st, repeat ( sc, sk 2, shell st, sk2) till the end of the round.

 Round 5: ch1, 2sc in every st 

Round 6: Repeat round 2

 Round 7: ch1, 2sc in every st

 Round 8: Repeat round 4 

Round 9: ch1, 2sc, 1sc, 2sc, 1 sc, repeat till the end of the round.

 Round 10 to 15: shell st, sk2, sc, sk 2, shell st for the next 5 rounds.

 Round 16: ch1, 2sc in the 1st st as ch 1, 1 sc in the next st, repeat, 2, 1, 2, 1, till the end of the round.

 Round 17 to 21: repeat round 10 to 15. Fasten off 

Note: In the shell stitch round, when the previous round is finished with a shell stitch, the following round will start with a chain 1, single crochet. When the round ends with a single crochet, the next round will start with a shell stitch, which is ch3, 2 dc in the 1st st and once the round completed you add 2 dc to that ch3.
