Waffle stitch beanie crochet

 



 This beanie is worked in rounds from bottom to top, there is no decrease or increase, just to be familiar with the front post double crochet and back post double crochet, following the step by step pattern you’ll be able to achieve it.

 4 mm crochet hook 

Tapestry needle

 Measurements (for M/L size)

 21/ 27 cm 

Gauge 10 cm: 13 rows/ 19 sts 

Abbreviations

 Ch: chain 

St: stitch

 Sc: single crochet

 Dc: double crochet

 Sts: stitches 

Fpdc: front post double crochet

 Bpdc: back post double crochet 

Written pattern 

Ch 101, join to form a circle

 Round 1: ch2, dc in every ch, join to the top ch 2. 

Round 2: ch2, fpdc in the 1st st, bpdc in the next 2 sts, repeat ( fpdc in the next st, bpdc in the following 2 sts) till the end of the round, join

 Round 3: ch2, fpdc in the 1st st (previous row fpdc) 1 dc in the next 2 sts (normal dc), repeat ( fpdc in the next st, dc in the next 2 sts) till end of the round, join. 

Round 4: ch2, fpdc in the 1st st, bpdc in the next 2 sts, repeat ( fpdc in the next st, bpdc in the following 2 sts) till the end of the round, join 

Round 5: ch2, fpdc in the 1st st (previous row fpdc) 1 dc in the next 2 sts (normal dc), repeat ( fpdc in the next st, dc in the next 2 sts) till end of the round, join. 

Round 6: ch2, fpdc in the 1st st, bpdc in the next 2 sts, repeat ( fpdc in the next st, bpdc in the following 2 sts) till the end of the round, join 

Round 7: ch2, fpdc in the 1st st (previous row fpdc) 1 dc in the next 2 sts (normal dc), repeat ( fpdc in the next st, dc in the next 2 sts) till end of the round, join.

Round 13: ch2, fpdc in the 1st st (previous row fpdc) 1 dc in the next 2 sts (normal dc), repeat ( fpdc in the next st, dc in the next 2 sts) till end of the round, join. 

Round 14: ch2, fpdc in the 1st st, bpdc in the next 2 sts, repeat ( fpdc in the next st, bpdc in the following 2 sts) till the end of the round, join

 Round 15: ch2, fpdc in the 1st st (previous row fpdc) 1 dc in the next 2 sts (normal dc), repeat ( fpdc in the next st, dc in the next 2 sts) till end of the round, join.

 Alternate the same way till round 28 or required length. Leave a long thread for sewing. Turn the beanie the wrong side, insert the tapestry needle in and out every st around, once complete, pull through tightly and sew the opening till it is completely closed. That's it the beanie is done.
