Buttons crochet pattern




You will learn here how to make two types of buttons, the round one and flat one, the basics for crochet buttons is to use a smaller crochet hook than the one recommended in the yarn label so it is solid and rigid, the width of the flat button will depend on how many rounds you make.

Materials

Mercerised cotton yarn

2mm crochet hook

Sewing needle

Measurements:

Grey button: 3.5 cm

Green button: 2 cm

Abbreviations

Ch: chain

Sc: single crochet

St: stitch

Sts: stitches

Sl st: slip stitch

Written Pattern

Grey button:

Ch2, 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, do not join.

Round 1:2sc in the next st, 2 sc in every st around.

Continue working in spiral

Round 2: 2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in the following st, 2 sc in the next one, sc in the following one, continue till the end of the round or until you have 18 sts.

Round 3: sl st in every st. Fasten off. Leave a long thread.

Using a sewing needle, pass the yarn from the wrong side to round one st, pull and insert it in the middle st (hole). That's for stitching the button into your project later.

Green button

Ch2, 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, do not join.

Round 1:2sc in the next st, 2 sc in every st around.

Continue working in spiral

Round 2: 2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in the following st, 2 sc in the next one, sc in the following one, continue till the end of the round or until you have 18 sts.

Leaving a long thread, with a sewing needle, insert it in and out in every st around the last round and pull tightly until the button forms into a round, sew the ends to secure the round button, leaving the thread long for sewing into your project later.
