German shell stitch crochet Pattern

This is the kind of patterns which you need to try at least twice in your crochet life, not only is it very pretty but easy as well, I thought the first time i tried to learn it that it is difficult but the second time following my video, quickly i had it done.

So it is time for you to try it using the pattern and video tutorial together and see for yourself whether it is really easy or not.

Materials:
Crochet hook 5.5 mm
If you are making a blanket 2 skeins of lion brand pound of love will make you a big blanket each skein has around 950 m of yarn for an adult blanket you need around 1500 m

Abbreviations:
V st: double crochet, ch1, double crochet all in the same space or stitch
Ch: chain
St: stitch
Dc: double crochet
Sc: single crochet

Written pattern
ch4
Round 1: dc in the 4th ch from the hook, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, join.
Round 2: ch3, 7 dc in the same space as ch 3, sc in the next space, 8dc in the next sp, sc in the next space, repeat till the end of the round, you should have 4 petals (8dc).
Working in the previous sc of round 2
Round 3: ch4, 1 dc in the same st as ch4, ch3, 1dc, ch1, 1 dc all in the same st. *ch5, (1dc, ch1, 1 dc, ch3, 1dc, ch1, 1 dc) all in the next sc (the single crochet between the petals) ** repeat from * to ** twice. You should have 4 corners worked.
Round 4: ch3, 6 dc in the V st, *sc in the sp between the 2 V stitches, 7 dc in the following V st.
In the 4th st from round 2, make a sc (to cover the ch 5 from round 3) **. Repeat from * to ** till the end of the round. join.
In this round and the following rounds, you'll work V st, ch 3, V st only in the corners (4 corners) and in the rest of the sc, you only work 1 V st.
Round 5: ch4, 1 dc in the same st as ch4, ch3, 1dc, *ch5, (1dc, ch1, 1 dc, ch3, 1dc, ch1, 1 dc) all in the next sc (the single crochet between the petals, now it is the corner), ch5, 1 v st in the next sc**. Repeat from * to ** till the end of the round, join
Round 6: ch3, 6 dc in the V st, 7 dc in the next V st, sc in the next ch3 sp, 7 dc in the v st .
Basically, in the corners you will make (7 dc in the V st, sc in the ch3, 7 dc in the V st) and then in the next V st which is an individual one, you'll make 7 dc and you repeat till the end of the round.
So, for the rest of the work what you need to do is alternate between round 5 and 6.
Round 5 is the preparing base for round 6, you continue till you obtain the length of your desired project.
